Easter is a great time for a UK staycation with kids, whether the weather chooses to be your friend or not. Many seasonal attractions reopen for the year but offer both indoor and outdoor activities so you can take refuge from any inclement spells, while those with lovely grounds are the perfect spot for Easter egg hunts. This is also a great time of year to visit a farm-park, as many will be home to lambs and chicks guaranteed to elicit delighted ooohs and aaaahs from your own brood.

This Easter sees the arrival of Longleat's new display of anatomically correct animatronic bugs, lasting until the end of October. Dotted along a trail around its grounds, it will include bees, ladybirds and British butterflies, plus more exotic critters including the orchid mantis, puss moth caterpillar and whip scorpion. The venue will also unveil new exhibitions focused on conservation for 2017.
