Luxury Family Hotels and their Canine Characters
Luxury Family Hotels love animals and are the perfect place to bring your pooch on a family break or holiday, with ample grounds in which to walk and play and all kinds of dog-friendly amenities provided by our attentive staff.
But many guests don’t realise until they arrive that several of our properties have their very own pets, who are an essential part of the team in terms of providing a warm welcome and ready playmates for our younger visitors.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing some of our canine companions to you in this blog. We start with our furry friends at Moonfleet Manor in Dorset, The Ickworth Hotel in Suffolk and New Park Manor in the New Forest.
Moonfleet Manor’s six-year-old working cocker spaniel has been in residence since he was a puppy, when he learnt the ropes for his role as hotel dog from Spicer, now sadly in doggy heaven. Always full of mischief, Snoopy likes nothing better than going out on adventures with visiting families, although he can also often be found manning Reception – albeit well curled up in the armchair!
The resident pooch at The Ickworth, border terrier Brogue is seven years old going on 47, according to its owner, general manager Michael. Brogue can often be spotted around the hotel, lurking around the public areas hoping for the odd morsel of one of our delicious home-baked cakes. He’ll make friends with anyone – especially if they take him for a walk!
New Park Manor’s cockapoo puppy Jerry is the latest addition to the team at New Park, accompanying his owner, general manager David, to the hotel every day. A lovely and extremely playful character, he makes friends with all the dogs who come to stay at the hotel – as well as their humans!
