Our three tailor-made packages for the Christmas and New Year breaks (including our Recharger breaks between the two) mean the whole family can enjoy traditional celebrations with extended family and friends, or even celebrate baby’s first Christmas, in a fabulous setting, whether it’s a fairytale castle, a stately home, a former royal hunting lodge or by the seaside.
Each hotel (with the exception of Thornbury Castle) offers activities and games for younger guests, a games room for older kids, plus two hours’ free childcare a day in the OFSTED-registered Dens, so there’ll be plenty of time for parents to relax in front of a roaring fire by the twinkling lights of the Christmas trees, as well as enjoying quality family time together.
You’ll also enjoy wonderful cuisine feature locally sourced food and home-grown herbs, plus artisan spirits including vintage cognacs and liqueurs, vodka from one of Russia’s oldest distilleries and Death’s Door Gin produced in Winconsin – all perfect winter warmers.

The Ickworth, Suffolk
Our beautiful property within gorgeous National Trust parkland is hosting a festive film for the kids on Christmas Eve as well as giving them the chance to scatter reindeer food ready for Rudolph and his friends’ arrival. Santa will pay a visit on Christmas Day itself, then there’ll be drinks followed by a three-course Christmas lunch. Further Christmas Day treats will include both a children’s tea and a family buffet dinner and the chance to watch a film or borrow a board game.
Moonfleet Manor, Dorset
Our splendid Georgian manor house overlooking Chesil Beach in West Dorset is a magical spot to celebrate Christmas: our full-board packages included selected drinks and fabulous entertainment for adults and children alike.
Fowey Hall, Cornwall
Listening to carols sung by the local choir around the tree in the courtyard of our north Cornwall property, and meeting Santa’s reindeers, is the perfect way to kick off a Christmas break – Santa’s little helpers will be serving mulled cider, apple juice and toasting marshmallows. Christmas Eve will see a tea party, games and a disco, followed by a festive movie. After breakfast in bed on Christmas morning, the Den staff will host a treasure hunt, then there’ll be champagne reception with canapés in the lounge and a traditional family lunch. With the kids in breakfast club on Boxing Day morning, parents can enjoy a leisurely breakfast with the papers or walk it all off with a wander through the town. There’ll be a children’s entertainer in the afternoon for fun, games and magic too.
Polurrian Bay, Cornwall
Christmas Eve on the Lizard Peninsula starts with a Cornish cream tea before the festivities begin in the form of carol-singing, mulled wine and mince pies for the grown-ups, and a kids’ Christmas party. Santa will visit on Christmas morning, then there’ll be prosecco and canapés for the bigger guests before a traditional Christmas lunch and entertainment by a magician and an afternoon of movies and games. A bracing Boxing Day coastal walk will blow away the cobwebs, or for those with less energy, the Boxing Day swim at Poldhu Cove can be seen in action just a short walk from the hotel.
Woolley Grange Hotel, Wiltshire
A multitude of festive activities and entertainment for adults and kids at our Bradford-on-Avon hotel will include the ever-popular family quiz, carols by candlelight by Christchurch Choir on Christmas Eve, a family treasure hunt on Christmas Day and a kids’ fancy-dress party on Boxing Day. Guests can also enjoy the pool, cinema club, arts and crafts sessions and board games, plus a visit from Father Christmas.
New Park Manor, Hampshire
Christmas Eve activities at our New Forest hideaway include leaving traditional treats out for Santa and the reindeer while grown-ups start to unwind with a treatment in the hotel’s spa or a glass of mulled wine and mince pies around an open log fire in the lounge. After guests enjoy a hearty breakfast including Bucks Fizz for the adults, Father Christmas will give personalised gifts to each child in the grotto. Then there’ll be a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, the Queen’s Speech and the famous family Treasure Hunt. The day is rounded off with a family film and evening family buffet.
Thornbury Castle, Gloucestershire
Take advantage of a unique opportunity to spend Christmas where Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn stayed as part of their honeymoon tour – where celebrations fit for a king and queen will include a cream tea on arrival, a black-tie champagne reception and entertainment by local carol-singers, followed by a five-course gourmet dinner. Christmas Day will be laid-back, with a leisurely breakfast in your bedchamber, a Christmas gift and a glass of sherry, and a Christmas feast. On Boxing Day a falconry display will take place on the castle lawn with one of the country’s leading falconers, Michael Davie, then guests will be treated to a gala dinner.
