Luxury Family Hotels 30th birthday party celebration
In May this year, to celebrate our 30th year of Luxury Family Hotels, we ran a competition on social media offering the chance to win an afternoon tea party for thirty people at any one of our hotels.
Our competition asked people to nominate their favourite song or movie from the 80’s. You posted some great suggestions that took us down memory lane & prompted lots of singing at our desks and searching for films from the era.
The prizewinnerwas chosen at random from all of the entrants but we can reveal their favourite movie was Top Gun, chosen for the excellent 80’s soundtrack it delivered.
Our winner, Alexandra, chose New Park Manor to host her party and the date was set for September. With the party over and a great time had by all we caught up with Alexandra to find out all about it!
Congratulations on winning our 30th Birthday Afternoon Tea Giveaway! Who did you decide to take with you and why?
After the initial excitement of winning it dawned on me that I had to find 30 people to invite and I was initially a bit overwhelmed but when I understood how family friendly the hotel was, it waseasy to make up the numbers.
I brought along my parents, my sister and her family and then some of our friends too. We all have children under five who were really excited to be joining us for the party. I knewmy family would love it as we often celebrate special occasionswith afternoon tea and,as agroup spanning lots of ages,we all got on really well in the relaxing surroundings at New Park Manor.
What made you choose New Park Manor for your celebration?
I chose New Park Manor as it is in the New Forest, which I love! Some of us decided to make a weekend out of it, which made it even more special. As we live relatively near it was an easy journey to make with the children too.
What made the day special for you and your guests?
We were given a private room with outside space, as there were nine children in our group sothey could play outside whilst we relaxed and lingered over the tea and enjoyedthe afternoon. The team looking after us were amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. Oh and the scones!!!! They were perfection.
Did you make a weekend of it? If so, what else did you get up to?
We did and four of the families also stayed nearby to make the most of the New Forest. It was a weekend full of ponies, running, rugby, and relaxation -and of course an amazing afternoon tea.
Which Luxury Family Hotel would you like to visit next and why?
It would have to be Moonfleet Manor or Fowey Hall, as I love the areas and the hotels looks fab.
How would yousum up the day in three words?
Wonderful, special and relaxing.
